Day 4 17/8/19

Paris Ghent Amsterdam

Today we were up early to leave Paris by coach.  Some of the tour took up the option of train travel , but we are on the coach.

First stop Ghent at lovely little town where we were treated to a canal tour in a glass top boat with a hilarious young man who was very excited to know there were Tasmanian’s on the tour so he showed us his tattoo on his calf of Tasmania and promptly told us he had heard all the jokes thank you lol.  Then he found out there were New Zealanders on the boat as well, you guessed it he had a tattoo for that as well which involved him dropping his jeans to show us his upper thigh, phew no more tattoos thank goodness. 

Well he gave the most amazing commentary of the city both witty and informative whilst we were treated to a very strong beer brewed locally called red dragon 10.5 proof as much as the men wanted, they were almost fighting over the last 6 stubbies and the yummiest pre made rolls.  But it made for a very peaceful afternoon trip tp Amsterdam because everyone napped.

We arrived at the dock  at around 6.00 pm checked into our cabin straight away followed by a delicious dinner and information session.
