Woke at 4.30 am (jet lag). So used the time to plan our day, off to Kilkenny castle. What a beautiful town Kilkenny is lots of small laneways and of course the castle.

It had been owned by the Butler family for 600 years before for financial reasons they gave up the castle to the local council for 50 pounds.

With the promise the castle and grounds would always be for public use, the grounds are 52 acres and are used by many groups and families. The castle offers guided tours which was very informative. You definitely need more than one day to see every thing in Kilkenny so we plan to go back to see the museum while we are at Cork.

We then headed to the Waterford factory just to window shop of course 😉😉
