have have a quiet three days staying at Galway. It has been cold but am told it is typical Irish summer which is a nice lead up to the heat we might receive next week in Portugal. We went for a drive up or down to Clifden to see the Kylemore Abbey which was very impressive, Ian walked around it while I browsed the gift shop and snoozed in the car.... Lots of nice scenery and water on our way. Plenty of peat being taken from the land, I will get a photo when I can get the driver to stop to take one 🤣. We stopped at a small pub for lunch on the way . It was very nice they seem to serve food all day. The Barman said have you seen our sheep no was the answer until we turned the next corner they were everywhere but very well behaved. Did I mention they have a ban on sugar in all drinks here in Ireland and you can only get drinks with aspartame in them..... well I dislike it immensely so have source seemly a undercounted white lemonade with sugar shock horror. But they don’t seem to mind the amount of fat that is in everything... leaving the hospital the radio was busy telling everyone that 2 out of every 5 people in Ireland are having a heart attack or stroke ummm..... Anyway my rant for the day lol.

I have finally found a quilt shop, it was very nice, asked the lady what I could buy that would represent Ireland in a memory quilt. Her answer was SHEEP.....

We were heading off to Belfast on the  11th but have taken some local knowledge on board as it is marching weekend there and we don’t want to get caught up in the protests etc so off to Donegal , Balleyfoyey for 2 nights.
