Hawaii aloha

Well we actually arrived on the 4th of September but we have been very busy ever since. To say Harry was excited would be an under statement, We were lucky to get him to preschool in the morning after we arrived but we did get him there and had to give his teacher a hug to say hello🥰

When we picked him up he took Gramps to his favourite hairdresser for a haircut, Gramps didn’t get a lollipop though.

Ella has grown a lot and is walking everywhere, we took here fabric shopping, you can see by the photos she has taste 😆.

We have been to lots of Laura and Ryan’s favourite places Delish cafe by the sea for dinner where the kids get to play on the beach while waiting for their meal.

We took Harry and Ella to swimming lessons both are getting very confident in the water followed by pancakes for lunch.

Of course we had a shopping session at the outlets to replenish my wardrobe after my weight loss I am coming home lighter but my cases are much heavier.

PEARL HARBOUR

Then we went to pearl harbour to visit the Arizona memorial which was closed last time we were here. It was a very moving experience. The site is the resting place for 1102 sailors and marines of the 1177 killed on the USS ARIZONA, on a day when 2341 service members and 49 civilians lost their lives.

It is an amazing site to commemorate the loss of lives and to this day a oil slick can still be seen coming up from the hull of the ship.

After our visit we went over to Ford Island and did the 6 km walk around the Island. The USS Utah was also sunk off Ford Island and was never recovered, there is now a memorial to that there now.

On the island there are many original hangers , buildings and houses from the pre pearl harbour attack. You can also see in the concrete some strafing marks where the Japanese planes fired into the ground during the attack.

Tomorrow we are off to Maui with Laura, Ryan and the children for 3 nights - can’t wait.

 WEDNESDAY

Up early for our flight to Maui

A quick flight, just thirty minutes, quick sit down here is you drink and nibbles, where is your rubbish, sit down, welcome to Maui. Lol Lunch at Bubba Gump fish company by the sea. Then off to check into our accomodation. We are here for three nights Ella has already worked out how to get thru all attempts to block the stairs. Harry has a big double bed and declared a 1pm that he was tired was just going for a rest it didn’t last long lol.... but at least he likes his bed.

Thursday

Road to Hanu trip

This was amazing a guided road trip (via iPhone commentary) we stopped at some beautiful lookouts and waterfalls. Some great beaches. Had the famous Banana Bread, and even a swim in a waterhole which was 🥶 they said it would take 12 hours and by the time we got home it was almost twelve hours the kids were unbelievable. Considering Ella was in her car seat for hours she was a happy girl all day. Harry was excellent he stayed awake to the end. Great day had by all finished off with fish and chips and Shave ice.

Friday. We are off to the Aquarium today said to be one of the best.

We had a terrific time in Hawaii and such a great way to finish our trip now it is time to go home
