Hola from Barcelona, we traveled up from Madrid via the wonderful train system here in Spain, they leave on time and arrive when they should.😁 Our accomodation here is a 3 bedroom apartment ( no we are not taking in lodgers) lol. But it is quaint. See the picture of the antiquated lift and you will understand why I have a nervous breakdown getting into it. Only use it if I have to. First night we just walked around to acquaint ourselves with our neighbourhood and to buy breakfast suppliers then out for a quick paella dinner.

Today (Thursday) we had a tour of the Basilica of the Sagrada Família . Wow , the cathedral was started in 1882 by architect Francisco Lozano who only lasted 1 year, then Antoni Guadi took over the project in 1883 -1926 in this period there were another 10 architects working on the project Guadi died in 1926 and another 7 architects worked on the project until 2012, the cathedral still remains unfinished, but they have a timeline completion date of 2026. 23 Sculptures have also worked on the structure.

They have a weekly mass in the church which has space for 500 parishioners only so apparently you have to be early. At Christmas mass the church hold 8000 people including a choir of 700.

We are finding Barcelona a little friendlier as more people speak English here.
